About Me

My name is Michael Spencer. I received dual degrees in Finance and Accounting from the top 15 Robert H. Smith School of Business, and am currently working for a highly respected minority-owned government contracting firm, Macrosys, LLC. Dedicated to public information transparency, I strive to maintain our transportation data's precision within the DOT's Bureau of Transportation Statistics. Being public, this data is utilized by both federal and privately-employed economists and statisticians in creating models for better decision-making. My publications are made up of statistics from all transportation-industry sectors.

I have a deep interest in business processes. As a task, I am experienced in and enjoy interviewing and analysis in order to subsequently document systems with flowcharts. My other interests include equities and derivatives markets, investment valuations, general accounting, and fraud investigations. I am currently pursuing a Certification of Public Accountancy to aid in my career's endeavors, especially within analyst positions. Another prospective certification is the Certification of Fraud Examination (CFE), as I believe that fraud is one of the biggest, yet most manageable, weights on the development of our society. Company culture is set mostly by "tone at the top," yet even the strongest moral culture is still a delicate balance that can be toppled without the prevention or quick removal of fraud and its immoral natures. In my free time, I enjoy reading philosophy, exploring new cultures and foods, body fitness, and writing science fiction.
